[An essay on the threat of dehumanization to the profession of a librarian]

Dehumanization, a term used in anthropology, sociology and psychology, refers to the degradation of human values. In discussions on information society critical voices can be heard, pointing to negative effects of this free-market ideology. The author of the article seeks to analyze the argument of the dehumanization of the librarian profession, especially in the context of technological effects of the media revolution and library computerization.
