Abstrakt

[Bibliotherapy in working with children from integrative schools]

The article deals with the subject of disabled children attending schools with integrative classes. The author, having analysed the results of a survey conducted in this type of schools, selected a representative group of disabled pupils, who attended a series of bibliotherapeutic meetings. These sessions aimed at changing the attitude of the participants to the surrounding reality and at making them open to other people. The pupils attended the classes willingly and shared their problems with others. After the series of meetings another survey was conducted among the participants in order to examine the effects of the sessions. The author analyses the changes in attitude of the disabled pupils by comparing the results of the two surveys and presents the conclusions in descriptive and graphic forms. Considering the short time and the small number of meetings, the attitudes of the participants have changed only to a small extent. However, the changes that have occurred allow to formulate an important thesis, namely that bibliotherapy is recommended in integrative institutions since it is interesting for the pupils and helps them change their outlook on the surrounding world. The author states that, owing to the form of sessions and the value of reading appropriately selected texts, bibliotherapy should be necessarily introduced to educational institutions as its application brings the expected results.
