Abstrakt

[Wydawnictwo Edukacyjne publishing house and the changes of the educational system reform]

The Wydawnictwo Edukacyjne publishng house was established in 1993 in Warsaw by four shareholders: Witold Bójski, Jerzy Markiewicz, Bolesław Faron and Tadeusz Korczyc. A year later the company was moved to the Krakow region, where it has been operating for 17 years. Since the very beginning the Scientific Director is Bolesław Faron, who selects authors and titles according to the didactic, scientific and cognitive criteria. The publisher concentrates on textbooks, curricula, and teaching aids in many subjects, yet the most popular publications are Polish language textbook series To lubię!, the journal Nowa Polszczyzna edited by Zofia Agnieszka Kłakówna, and the logopedic series Kocham czytać edited by Jadwiga Cieszyńska, featuring many teaching aids for pupils, parents and teachers. The house publishes individual  works, but owing to the cooperation with the academic society of e.g. the Pedagogical University of Krakow, it is methodologically profiled, keeps in touch with the school reality, and follows the current changes in the educational system. For its publishing and service activity and for the didactic modernity, the publisher has been awarded many awards by the Minister of Education and at the Educational Book Fair.
